|History of ACLALS: Questionnaire|
Geoffrey Davis (former chair of ACLALS) and Russell McDougall (current chair of SPACLALS) are working on a history of the association and its branches. They are relying on members past and present to answer a questionnaire available here.
ACLALS conferences are hosted by various chapters of the association, every third year.
The next conference will take place in Auckland, New Zealand, from 15 to 19 July 2019, and will be organized around the theme 'The Uncommon Commonwealth'. The call for papers, available on the conference website, closes on 30 October 2018.
ACLALS is a member of FILLM, the International Federation for Modern Languages and Literatures. The association's latest congress was held in New Delhi in March 2017, and a symposium celebrating the association's 90th anniversary was organized in Vienna on July 12-13 2018.
The Port of Spain Civil Society Statement to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (25 November 2009) can now be downloaded here.
|ACLALS electronic discussion list|
We would like to remind you of the existence of the association's electronic discussion list at Yahoo!
Membership is free, and all are encouraged to sign up. Being a member of the group will allow you to post and access announcements (such as conference alerts and calls for papers) online or receive them directly by email. The list also makes it possible for members to post photos, e.g. pictures taken at conferences.
